Nalco Water offers solutions that help yeast propagation and ethanol fermentation

The use of nutrients and biocides during the ethanol harvest helps to ensure more efficiency and supports sustainable operations

May 13, 2019

São Paulo, May 2019 - Ecolab, the world leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, through its Nalco Water division, brings a competitive solution to the ethanol market that helps to improve the quality and productive capacity of the sugar and ethanol mills.

Used together at the beginning of the harvest, Nalco Water nutrients and liquid monensin allow increased fermentation in ethanol production, contributing to high volume yeast with low bacterial contamination.

The nutrients are essential for a healthy yeast propagation, thus allowing an increase in the volume to be fermented during the production of ethanol. Liquid monensin, a powerful biocide, ensures that bacteria that are harmful to fermentation do not interfere with production performance.

During the harvest, the combination of these solutions also contributes to the sugar and ethanol plants achieving a competitive differential. "Throughout the production process, it is essential to use technologies that help maintain ethanol productivity and quality, avoiding waste and contamination by bacteria and wild yeasts", says Ricardo Ventura, Nalco Water Technical Consultant and Specialist for the Sugar and Alcohol Industry.

Product safety is also a concern and a differential. "The applications of nutrients and biocides do not require the use of personal protective equipment (EPI's), guaranteeing the safety of the operators and the tranquility of the mills' business", adds Ventura.
