Ecolab is Recognized Worldwide for its Actions in Ethics, Sustainability and Innovation
The praises reinforce the company's commitment to provide clean water, safe food, abundant energy and healthy environments.
São Paulo, June 2018 – Ecolab, the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services, is among the Top 100 of the World's Most Innovative Companies 2018 in a list published by Forbes. This is the fifth time the company is included in this list since its first publication in 2011.
With a staff of 1600 scientists, engineers and technical experts, the company operates 19 technology centers worldwide and develops comprehensive solutions as well as innovative products to promote safe food, maintain clean environments, optimize water and energy consumption and improve the operational efficiency of its customers in more than 40 different areas. In 2017, Ecolab invested more than US$ 200 million in research and development.

Gold Medal in sustainable development
Ecolab was also awarded the gold medal in sustainable development by the World Environment Center. WEC, as it is also known, is a non-profit organization recognized for promoting sustainable development strategies and practices together with governments, multilateral organizations, non-governmental organizations and private companies. The award was presented during the 34th Annual Ceremony of the institution, held in Washington, USA.
The jury was made up by international leaders from academic institutions, governments, non-governmental organizations and industry professionals and chose Ecolab based on its initiatives in the conservation and total management of water use, in addition to its commitment to sustainability, whether in its operations or in the development of products and solutions.
Previous companies awarded with the Gold Medal by the WEC were HP Inc. (2017), CH2M (2016), SC Johnson (2015), Unilever (2013), IBM (2012), Nestlé (2011), Wal-Mart Stores (2010), The Coca-Cola Company (2009) e Marks & Spencer (2008).
One of the most ethical companies for the 12th consecutive year
Ecolab was once more recognized as one of the world's most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices. The company has always been on this list since its publication began in 2007.
